The fan-favorite supernatural series Grimm is officially returning—this time as a feature-length reboot movie on Peacock. Originally airing from 2011 to 2017, Grimm followed Portland detective Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli), who learns he’s a “Grimm,” part of a long line of guardians sworn to keep the balance between humanity and mythological creatures known as Wesen.
The new film promises to expand the Grimm universe while honoring the original show’s dark, folklore-inspired tone. While casting details are still under wraps, producers have hinted at connections to the original series that will satisfy longtime fans and invite a new generation into the world of Wesen.
Original creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf are returning as executive producers, alongside Drop Dead Diva’s Josh Berman, who will write and produce the reboot. With Peacock backing the project, hopes are high for a revival that’s both fresh and faithful.
