In an outstanding freshman campaign, Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears has earned significant national honors during the 2024–25 season. On January 7, 2025, Fears was named to the John R. Wooden Award’s Midseason Watch List, joining the nation’s 25 leading candidates for the prestigious player-of-the-year honor . He leads the Sooners with averages of roughly 17.9 points, 4.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game—impressive stats for any player, let alone a freshman .

Furthermore, Fears was selected as one of the five finalists for the 2025 Bob Cousy Award, given annually to the top point guard in NCAA Division I men’s basketball .
