In a triumphant recognition of an extraordinary comeback season, Missouri Tigers head football coach Eliah Drinkwitz has been honored as Coach of the Year, celebrating a turnaround that captured the attention of the college football world. After years of building, adjusting, and weathering growing pains in the ultra-competitive SEC, Drinkwitz’s vision for Missouri football came to life in 2025 with a season few could have predicted — except perhaps the coach himself.

The Tigers finished the regular season with an impressive 11-1 record, their best since joining the SEC. Not only did they topple ranked opponents like LSU and Ole Miss, but they also competed toe-to-toe with perennial powerhouses Alabama and Georgia, earning national respect in the process. Missouri clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game for the first time in over a decade and emerged as a true threat on the national stage.

Much of Missouri’s success can be attributed to Drinkwitz’s bold offensive strategies and his trust in quarterback Carson Hughes, a junior whose breakout season saw him throw for over 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns. Drinkwitz’s knack for play-calling and quarterback development helped the Tigers become one of the most dynamic offenses in the nation, while a disciplined, fast, and physical defense consistently stepped up in big moments.

Equally important was the culture shift that Drinkwitz instilled within the program. Known for his infectious energy and straight-shooting demeanor, he re-established Missouri as a team built on toughness, accountability, and self-belief. Veterans bought in. Young players rose to the challenge. And most importantly, the locker room became a unified force — a reflection of Drinkwitz’s leadership and relentless commitment to excellence.

This Coach of the Year award not only affirms Drinkwitz’s credentials as one of the brightest minds in college football but also signals Missouri’s rise as a legitimate contender in the SEC. For a program that has long hovered just outside the national spotlight, 2025 marked a turning point — one that Drinkwitz and his staff worked tirelessly to reach. His ability to develop talent, manage games, and inspire belief in his players made all the difference.
