Underwood, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound quarterback from Belleville, Michigan, initially committed to LSU in January 2024. However, on November 21, 2024, he flipped his commitment to Michigan, citing a desire to stay close to home and play under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
