Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has taken his impact beyond the football field by partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Ohio. Through this collaboration, Harrison Jr. aims to support families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at local hospitals.
As an ambassador for RMHC, Harrison Jr. is actively involved in initiatives to raise awareness and funds for the organization’s mission. One such effort includes encouraging patrons at Central Ohio McDonald’s restaurants to “Round-Up” their purchases, with the additional change benefiting RMHC programs.
“I am very excited to partner with such a highly respected organization like Ronald McDonald House Charities,” said Harrison Jr. “The kids and families at the House are so strong and resilient, and I am honored to work alongside them to help raise awareness and support for their mission of keeping families close.”
In addition to his work with RMHC, Harrison Jr. has utilized his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities to benefit the community. He collaborated with 7-Eleven and designer Shoe Surgeon to create custom cleats, which were auctioned off to raise $5,100 for Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
Harrison Jr.’s commitment to philanthropy reflects his desire to be remembered not just for his athletic achievements but also for his character and contributions off the field. “I just want people to remember the person who I was… I think my legacy will be my work ethic and the influence I had on my teammates,” he shared in an interview.
