Interesting: Kentucky Wildcats Star Oscar Tshiebwe unexpectedly paid the hospital bills for 50 cancer patients in Kentucky, marking one of a series of charitable acts by the young star that has won the hearts of countless WNBA fans…

As of June 2, 2025, there is no verified information or credible news sources confirming that Oscar Tshiebwe, former Kentucky Wildcats basketball star and current NBA player with the Utah Jazz, paid the hospital bills for 50 cancer patients in Kentucky. While this specific claim remains unsubstantiated, Tshiebwe has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting cancer patients and their families through various charitable acts.

In December 2024, Tshiebwe hosted a holiday event at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital, where he met with young patients, posed for photos, and donated $10,000 to the program. This gesture was part of his ongoing efforts to give back to the community that supported him during his time at the University of Kentucky.

Additionally, Tshiebwe has been involved in fundraising efforts for cancer research. His AAU team hosted an exhibition game to raise funds for the Donovan Kurt Memorial Cancer Fund, which assists families with medical expenses related to childhood cancer diagnoses. Donovan Kurt, a close childhood friend of Tshiebwe’s, passed away from brain cancer in November 2022.

Furthermore, Tshiebwe wears the number 34 jersey to honor Donovan Kurt, who wore the same number during his high school basketball career. This tribute reflects Tshiebwe’s deep respect and admiration for his late friend.
