2025 Football Schedule Released: Michigan State’s 2025 football schedule has been announced, detailing their upcoming games…

The Michigan State Spartans have unveiled their 2025 football schedule, marking a significant transition as the Big Ten Conference expands to 18 teams. Under the new “Flex Protect Plus” model, the Spartans will face a blend of traditional rivals and new conference opponents, including their first-ever matchups against UCLA and USC.

The season kicks off on August 30 with a home game against Western Michigan at Spartan Stadium. Following that, the Spartans will host Boston College on September 6 and Youngstown State on September 13, both at home. These non-conference games provide an opportunity for Michigan State to build momentum before entering the rigorous Big Ten schedule.

Conference play begins with two challenging road games. On September 20, the Spartans will travel to Los Angeles to face USC, marking their first meeting with the Trojans since 1990. A week later, on October 4, Michigan State will visit Nebraska. The Spartans then return home to host UCLA on October 11, the first matchup between the two schools since 1974.
The rivalry game against Michigan is scheduled for October 25 in East Lansing. This annual contest, known as the Battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy, is always a highlight of the season. Michigan State will also host Penn State on November 15 and Maryland on November 29. The game against Maryland will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, providing a unique venue for the season finale.

On the road, the Spartans will face Indiana on October 18, Minnesota on November 1, Iowa on November 22, and Wisconsin. These away games present significant challenges, especially with the hostile environments at Kinnick Stadium and Camp Randall Stadium. However, they also offer opportunities for Michigan State to prove themselves against formidable opponents.

Overall, the 2025 schedule presents a balanced mix of home and away games, with a blend of traditional Big Ten rivals and new conference foes. The inclusion of USC and UCLA adds an exciting dimension to the season, and the games against these teams will be crucial in determining the Spartans’ standing in the expanded Big Ten Conference. With a strong coaching staff and a talented roster, Michigan State aims to make a significant impact in the 2025 season.
