The Baylor Bears have officially released their 2025 football schedule, featuring a challenging lineup that includes 11 Power Four opponents—one of only two programs nationally, alongside TCU, to do so. The Bears will play seven games at McLane Stadium and five on the road, aiming to build upon their 8-5 finish in 2024, which concluded with a Texas Bowl appearance.
The season kicks off on August 30 with a high-profile home game against Auburn, marking the first meeting between the two programs since 1976. Baylor holds a slight edge in the all-time series at 2-1-1. The Bears then travel to Dallas on September 6 to renew their rivalry with SMU. Baylor has dominated the series recently, winning the last 13 matchups. The non-conference slate concludes on September 13 with a home game against Samford, an FCS opponent Baylor has defeated twice before.
Big 12 Conference play begins on September 20 when Baylor hosts defending league champion Arizona State. The Sun Devils, who joined the Big 12 in 2024, won the conference title in their inaugural season. Baylor then hits the road to face Oklahoma State on September 27, followed by a home game against Kansas State on October 4. After a bye week, the Bears embark on a two-game road trip to TCU on October 18 and Cincinnati on October 25.
The Bears return home for a two-game stretch, hosting UCF for Homecoming on November 1 and Utah on November 15, following a second bye week. Baylor’s final road game is on November 22 at Arizona, a team they haven’t faced since 1992. The regular season concludes with a home game against Houston on November 29, rekindling a rivalry that dates back to their Southwest Conference days.
Notably absent from the 2025 schedule are matchups against traditional rivals Texas Tech, BYU, and Colorado. This marks the first time since 1955 that Baylor and Texas Tech will not face each other. Despite these omissions, the Bears’ schedule remains one of the most demanding in the nation, with a heavy concentration of high-caliber opponents.
