Virginia Tech Hokies fans have a monumental reason to celebrate as Head Coach Megan Duffy has signed a groundbreaking contract, marking a significant milestone in women’s college basketball. This historic agreement underscores the university’s commitment to elevating its women’s basketball program and recognizing Duffy’s transformative impact since her arrival in 2024.
Duffy’s six-year contract, valued at $5.5 million, includes a structured salary progression, starting at $800,000 in total compensation for the 2024–25 season and increasing annually to $1,025,000 by the 2029–30 season. The agreement also features performance-based incentives and a retention bonus, reflecting the program’s focus on sustained excellence.
Since taking the helm, Duffy has led the Hokies to a 19–13 record in the 2024–25 season, including a 9–9 mark in ACC play. The team advanced to the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), signaling a promising trajectory under her leadership.
