Established in 1902, the Golden Wave Band (GWB) is Baylor’s largest student musical organization, comprising approximately 300 members from diverse academic disciplines, including music, science, business, pre-med, and engineering. Known for its dynamic performances, the GWB has a tradition of innovative halftime shows. Notably, in October 2021, the band paid tribute to the Foo Fighters during a football game, performing “Monkey Wrench” and forming the band’s iconic encircled ‘FF’ logo on the field. This performance garnered attention from the Foo Fighters themselves, who acknowledged the tribute on social media .

The Golden Wave Band’s commitment to excellence and its role in enhancing the Baylor football experience have solidified its status as a symbol of pride and inspiration for the university community and marching bands worldwide.
