Top South Carolina Gamecocks Football Prospect Commits to Michigan State University: This will Strengthen The Gamecocks 2025 Class

The South Carolina Gamecocks have bolstered their 2025 recruiting class by securing commitments from several top in-state prospects, including four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph. Murph, a standout from Irmo High School, chose South Carolina over offers from Clemson, Colorado, and Tennessee, announcing his decision during the Under Armour All-American Game. Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 190 pounds, Murph brings an impressive high school record of 153 catches for 2,412 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Murph’s commitment adds to an already strong wide receiver class for the Gamecocks. Other notable additions include four-star receivers Malik Clark from Rock Hill High School and Lex Cyrus from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Clark, a finalist for South Carolina’s Mr. Football Award, recorded 68 catches for 976 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season. Cyrus, who chose South Carolina over Penn State, is ranked as the No. 32 wide receiver nationally.

The Gamecocks have also secured commitments from other talented receivers, such as four-star Brian Rowe from North Carolina and three-star Jayden Sellers from South Florence High School. Rowe showcased his skills with 50 receptions for 1,063 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. Sellers, the younger brother of South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers, contributed significantly to his high school team’s state championship run.

Beyond the receiving corps, South Carolina’s 2025 class features key additions on both sides of the ball. Four-star offensive tackles Shedrick Sarratt Jr. and Damola Ajidahun aim to strengthen the offensive line. On defense, the Gamecocks have added talents like EDGE Donovan Darden and safety Kendall Daniels Jr., both expected to make immediate impacts.

Head coach Shane Beamer’s recruiting efforts have positioned South Carolina’s 2025 class among the top in the nation. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, the class is ranked No. 20 nationally and No. 12 in the SEC. With a blend of in-state stars and out-of-state prospects, the Gamecocks are building a foundation for future success.

As the 2025 season approaches, South Carolina fans have much to look forward to. The influx of talent, particularly at the wide receiver position, promises to enhance the team’s offensive capabilities. With a strong recruiting class and a commitment to development, the Gamecocks are poised for an exciting future on the gridiron.
