In One Electrifying Moment, Oklahoma Sooners Women’s Basketball Star Player Walk-On Delivers the Dunk of the Season—Shocking Everyone and Turning the Tide of the Game…

The Lloyd Noble Center erupted in disbelief and euphoria Tuesday night as an unexpected hero emerged from the Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball bench. In a pivotal third-quarter moment, walk-on guard Tia Harmon delivered what may go down as the dunk of the season—electrifying the crowd, stunning her opponents, and sparking a dramatic momentum shift that led the Sooners to a thrilling 74-68 comeback victory.

With just under five minutes left in the third and the Sooners trailing by nine, Harmon stole an errant pass at midcourt and charged down the lane. What looked like a routine fast break quickly turned historic as she rose above a defender and threw down a one-handed slam—an exceedingly rare sight in the women’s game, especially from a walk-on.

The crowd exploded. Teammates leaped off the bench. Even opposing coaches stood in awe.

“That’s the loudest I’ve ever heard this place,” said head coach Jennie Baranczyk after the game. “Tia’s been grinding all year, doing the little things behind the scenes. To see her have that moment—it was pure magic.”

The dunk ignited a 14-2 run that gave the Sooners their first lead since the opening quarter. Harmon would go on to score 10 points, grab 4 rebounds, and notch 3 steals in just 14 minutes of action—making the most of her unexpected spotlight.

Social media exploded within minutes, with WNBA players and celebrities alike reposting the highlight and praising Harmon’s athleticism.

“I was just in the moment,” Harmon said with a smile postgame. “Coach always tells us to stay ready. I saw the lane and just went for it.”
