Just Two and a Half Years After Guiding South Florence to its First State Title, LaNorris Sellers Who Wore No. 16 Throughout High School and Now at South Carolina brings Football Program Added Resources by Donating $16 Million to the South Florence Football …

Just two and a half years after leading South Florence High School to its first-ever state championship, former quarterback LaNorris Sellers is giving back in a historic way. Now suiting up for the South Carolina Gamecocks and continuing to wear his iconic No. 16, Sellers has announced a $16 million donation to the South Florence football program.

The gift, inspired by his jersey number and deep ties to his hometown, will be used to upgrade facilities, enhance player development, and fund scholarships for student-athletes.

“This program shaped who I am — it gave me a foundation,” Sellers said. “I want to make sure future players have more than I did.”

The donation marks one of the largest ever made to a high school athletic program and is expected to fund a state-of-the-art training complex, locker room renovations, and academic support services. South Florence officials called the gesture “transformational” and praised Sellers for his leadership both on and off the field.
