BREAKING NEWS: ROY WILLIAMS Stun the Football World With a Game Changing $15 Million Donations to The Oklahoma Sooners Football Program, Honoring The Coaches and Teammates Who Pave His Path to College Football Stardom… FULL DETAILS…

April 16, 2025 — College football received a major jolt of inspiration today as former Oklahoma Sooners star and NFL great Roy Williams announced a stunning $15 million donation to the Oklahoma football program. The gift, one of the largest ever by a former player, is aimed at honoring the coaches, teammates, and mentors who helped launch his storied career.

Williams, a College Football Hall of Famer and standout safety for the Sooners in the early 2000s, said the donation is a tribute to the program that shaped his life both on and off the field.

“This is about giving back to the place that believed in me,” Williams said. “Oklahoma football gave me a family, a future, and a platform — and this is my way of saying thank you to the people who paved the way.”

The funds will go toward facility upgrades, player development initiatives, and scholarships, with a portion dedicated to a new “Legacy Center” honoring past Sooners greats and their contributions.

Head coach Brent Venables called the donation “transformational” and praised Williams for setting a powerful example for future generations.

With this historic contribution, Williams not only cements his place in OU lore but also sets a new standard for former athletes giving back to their roots.
