BREAKING: Shocking Twist in College Football – Miami Hurricanes’ Star Defensive Lineman Switches Commitment to the Texas Longhorns, Sending Shockwaves Through the SEC and Reshaping the National Recruiting Scene… See More…

In a significant development in college football recruiting, four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has flipped his commitment from Florida State to the Texas Longhorns. Charles, a standout from Port Charlotte High School in Florida, is ranked as the No. 134 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive lineman in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. His decision to join Texas adds a significant boost to the Longhorns’ defensive line, especially as they prepare for their transition into the SEC.

Charles’s commitment to Texas comes after a strong recruitment effort by the Longhorns’ coaching staff, particularly defensive line coach Kenny Baker. Texas’s staff maintained consistent communication with Charles, effectively chipping away at his commitment to Florida State over the past few months before officially flipping his pledge.

This flip adds to Texas’s impressive 2025 recruiting class, which now includes two top out-of-state defensive tackle prospects: Charles and Josiah Sharma, who previously flipped from Oregon. The addition of Charles bolsters Texas’s defensive front as they prepare for their transition into the SEC.

Charles’s commitment is seen as a significant win for Texas, enhancing their defensive line depth and showcasing the program’s growing appeal to top-tier recruits.
