The Miami Hurricanes have secured a significant addition to their basketball roster with the commitment of Ernest Udeh Jr., a 6-foot-11, 260-pound center transferring from TCU. Udeh, a former McDonald’s All-American and five-star recruit, announced his decision on April 4, 2025, marking a pivotal moment for Miami’s rebuilding efforts under new head coach Jai Lucas.

During the 2024–25 season at TCU, Udeh showcased his prowess by averaging 6.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He recorded six double-doubles and achieved double-digit rebounds in ten games, highlighting his impact on both ends of the court.

Udeh’s collegiate journey began at Kansas in the 2022–23 season before transferring to TCU, where he became a consistent starter over two seasons. His move to Miami not only brings experience but also adds depth to the Hurricanes’ frontcourt.

With Udeh’s commitment, Miami continues to strengthen its roster through the transfer portal, having also added Michigan guard Tre Donaldson and Indiana forward Malik Reneau. These strategic acquisitions aim to position the Hurricanes as formidable contenders in the upcoming season.
