The Kansas State Wildcats have pulled off a major recruiting victory, landing the No. 1 player in the transfer portal, Kadary Richmond. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound (196 cm, 81 kg) guard chose Kansas State over Duke and Baylor, giving head coach Jerome Tang a game-changing playmaker for the Wildcats’ backcourt.

Richmond, known for his elite defensive skills, playmaking ability, and scoring versatility, will bring immediate impact to Kansas State. His ability to control the tempo, create for teammates, and lock down opposing guards makes him a perfect fit for Tang’s system in the Big 12.
“Kansas State felt like the best place for me to grow and compete,” Richmond said. “The coaching staff believes in me, and I’m excited to get to work.”

This is a major win for the Wildcats, solidifying their roster with one of the most talented transfers in the country. Meanwhile, Duke and Baylor will have to pivot after missing out on Richmond’s commitment.
