Kianni Westbrook, a 6-foot-3 forward from Augusta, Georgia, has officially committed to the LSU Tigers women’s basketball program, choosing LSU over Alabama, Auburn, and Florida.

Westbrook began her collegiate career at Daytona State College, where she averaged 13.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game over two seasons. She then transferred to Tennessee State University for the 2021-22 season, appearing in 29 games with 10 starts and averaging 4.0 points per game. In the 2023-24 season, Westbrook played at Oakland University, participating in 10 games with seven starts and averaging 6.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

 

Westbrook’s commitment to LSU adds significant depth and experience to the Tigers’ frontcourt. Her journey through multiple programs showcases her resilience and adaptability, qualities that will be valuable as she integrates into LSU’s system.

LSU’s head coach, Kim Mulkey, known for her ability to develop talent, will likely utilize Westbrook’s size and versatility to enhance the team’s defensive and rebounding capabilities.
