BREAKING: Nebraska Cornhuskers Basketball Head coach Send. crystal Clear Part Ways Message To a High Rated Player Concerning His Off Attent…

In a decisive move underscoring the University of Nebraska’s commitment to discipline and team integrity, head men’s basketball coach Tim Miles announced the dismissal of junior guard Deverell Biggs from the Cornhuskers program on January 27, 2014. This decision followed a series of off-court incidents involving Biggs, including a citation for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in December 2012, which led to a two-game suspension at the start of the 2013–2014 season. Additionally, Biggs faced disciplinary action for missing a film session in December 2013 and was cited on January 5, 2014, by University of Nebraska-Lincoln police for running a stop sign and driving on a suspended license.

Coach Miles emphasized that no single incident led to Biggs’ dismissal but rather a pattern of behavior inconsistent with the program’s standards. Biggs, the first in-state recruit to sign with Nebraska in a decade, had been a key contributor on the court, but the program prioritized adherence to its values and expectations.
