Breaking: Just In: Nebraska Cornhuskers Men Basketball Announces the Hiring of Another Top Talented And Well Experienced Player after Rejecting Signing Deals With Alabama and South Carolina…

The Nebraska Cornhuskers men’s basketball team has made a significant addition to their roster by signing shooting guard Connor Essegian for the upcoming 2024–25 season. Essegian, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard from Fort Wayne, Indiana, transfers to Nebraska after two seasons with the Wisconsin Badgers. His decision to join the Cornhuskers comes after reportedly declining offers from both Alabama and South Carolina.

During his freshman year at Wisconsin, Essegian averaged 11.7 points per game and earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team. He set a new freshman record for the Badgers by making 69 three-pointers in a season. However, his sophomore season saw a reduction in playing time due to an early-season back injury and defensive challenges, leading to an average of 3.2 points per game.

Essegian’s transfer to Nebraska offers him a fresh start and the opportunity to revitalize his collegiate career. Known for his sharpshooting abilities and scoring potential, he is expected to make an immediate impact on the Cornhuskers’ offense. Head coach Fred Hoiberg expressed enthusiasm about Essegian’s arrival, highlighting his experience in the Big Ten and his potential to contribute significantly to the team’s success.

The addition of Essegian aligns with Nebraska’s strategy to enhance their backcourt depth and perimeter shooting. As the Cornhuskers prepare for the 2024–25 season, Essegian’s experience and skill set are anticipated to play a pivotal role in their quest for a successful campaign.
