Breaking: Just In: Georgia Bulldogs Men Basketball Announces the Hiring of Another Top Talented And Well Experienced Player after Rejecting Signing Deals With Alabama and South Carolina…

The Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball program continues its impressive recruitment streak with the recent signing of Somtochukwu “Somto” Cyril, a 6-foot-10, 252-pound center from Enugu, Nigeria. Cyril, a four-star prospect, is ranked among the top 50 players nationally in the Class of 2024.

Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Cyril showcased his talents at Overtime Elite in Atlanta over the past two seasons, averaging 8.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and a league-leading 3.2 blocks per game. His defensive prowess earned him the OTE Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.

Cyril’s commitment adds to Georgia’s third consecutive Top 15 recruiting class, which includes other standout prospects such as center Jackson McVey, power forward Kareem Stagg, and small forward Jacob Wilkins, son of NBA Hall-of-Famer Dominique Wilkins.

Under the leadership of head coach Mike White, now in his third season, the Bulldogs have seen significant improvements, including a 20-win season and an NIT appearance in 2024. The addition of Cyril and his fellow recruits positions Georgia as a formidable contender in the Southeastern Conference for the upcoming seasons.
